How To Rock Your Engagement Session
I love engagement sessions. It’s a great way for me to get to know my clients prior to their wedding date. The photo session allows us to get comfortable and acquainted. Here are some tips on how to rock your engagement session.
Step 1: Pick The Right Location
What makes you happy? For Mia and Chris it was their wedding venue. Covington Farm in Dade City was the perfect location because it has lake view, tall grass, a beautiful barn, and large trees. It provided enough shade to wait for the sun to go down. All in all, it was absolutely perfect. Pick a location that makes fills you with joy. Forget the days of selecting a popular place.
Step 2: Wear Something You Feel Good In
I CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH! If you don’t wear something that makes you feel beautiful, then you will feel uncomfortable your entire session. Just because something is trendy doesn’t mean it photographs well. All in all, be like Chris and Mia and wear something that makes you feel great and look great.
Step 3: Trust Your Photographer
Before you hire a photographer, study their work. Look at how they pose couples, how they edit, and envision yourself in those photographs. Can you see yourself in those type of photographs? If so, you may have found your photographer. Once you get to your session, trust that they know how to guide you. Yes, sometimes they may ask you to do silly things but at the end of the day they’re the experts. When you trust your photographer, you will be able to connect better and create beautiful images.
Step 4: Be You
I want you to look back at your photographs and love how you were captures. If you’re silly, be silly and laugh. If you guys are more affectionate, then get comfortable and cozy with each other. At the end of the day, I want to capture the real you.
